Many of them are classified as <strong>carcinogenic<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-right: 0cm; padding-left: 30px;\">In addition to poisonous smoke, chemical toxins can lead to <strong>lung irritation<\/strong> and <strong>inflammation of the respiratory tract<\/strong>. In particular, <strong>benzene, toluene, xylene and ethylbenzene &#8211; mutagenic substances<\/strong> &#8211; can cause <strong>headaches, eye, nose and throat irritation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-right: 0cm; padding-left: 30px;\">Gases such as <strong>carbon monoxide and methane<\/strong>, which have been detected in surgical smoke, are as <strong>mutagenic and carcinogenic as tobacco smoke<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-right: 0cm; padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Surgical smoke can cause<\/span>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">respiratory tract inflammation<\/li>\n<li>emphysema, asthma, chronic bronchitis<\/li>\n<li>cough<\/li>\n<li>rhinitis<\/li>\n<li>general weakness<\/li>\n<li>eye irritation<\/li>\n<li>nausea\/vomiting<\/li>\n<li>hypoxia, dizziness<\/li>\n<li>dermatitis<\/li>\n<li>cardiovascular disorders<\/li>\n<li>lesions of the nasopharyngeal cavity<\/li>\n<li>tearing<\/li>\n<li>colic<\/li>\n<li>hepatitis<\/li>\n<li>leukemia<\/li>\n<li>HIV<\/li>\n<li>tumors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-right: 0cm; padding-left: 30px;\">In addition to doctors and medical workers, directly threatened by smoke inhalation during surgery, <strong>patients are also at risk<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-right: 0cm; padding-left: 30px;\">The most effective way to reduce the risks associated with smoke generated during surgical procedures is to extract it using a smoke evacuation system.
